Drills and purchase comparisons are editorial advice based on reported effects. Hitboxes, cooldowns and exact attack ranges were not measured.
Read the next patch of space
Wiki advice
Following the character’s current position can make every move reactive. Watch the lane they are entering, the nearby boundary and the space they could reach with a turn.
Practice predicting a route for a moment before committing. When the prediction is wrong, notice what changed: the player’s direction, the crowd or your own view.
Choose a target you can still see
Wiki advice
A target is easier to learn from when you can keep it in view. If several Runners overlap, do not assume you know which one will emerge in your lane.
Before switching targets, decide what the new choice improves. A shorter route or a clearer view is a reason; simply seeing another player is not.
Match an ability to the miss
Wiki advice
Review why your last approach failed before buying a solution. Losing the approach, losing reach and losing the target’s direction are different problems.
The ability reference separates reported effects from spending advice. Compare the current shop description with the problem you actually have, and avoid buying solely because a guide ranks something first.
Rocket Shoes or Big Dagger for a Chaser?
Guide report + wiki advice
Rocket Shoes is reported as a directional dash; Big Dagger temporarily extends melee reach. The October 4 report lists 850 Gems and 900 Gems respectively. Confirm both effects and prices in the current shop.
Consider Rocket Shoes if you read the route but cannot reach the space you chose. Consider Big Dagger if you reach the target’s lane but repeatedly miss at the edge of reach. This comparison is a practice framework, not a measured ranking: extra reach does not correct a poor approach, and a dash does not guarantee a hit.
Practice one thing per match
Wiki advice
No drill here establishes a guaranteed catch. The goal is to make your decisions easier to review.
- For one session, focus on keeping the target in view.
- For the next, focus on where you choose to commit.
- Only then compare how an equipped ability changes the same approach.
Questions before you play
Which Chaser ability is best?
There is no verified universal ranking here. Choose between movement, reach and pull based on your current problem.
Does this page measure knife range?
No. Exact hitbox and attack timing have not been independently measured.
Should I constantly switch targets?
Switch with a reason you can identify, such as a clearer route or view. Otherwise it is hard to learn from an approach.
